About ECCH

Vision: To build healthier communities through outstanding healthcare, as a provider, partner and employer of choice.

ECCH want to ensure they remain an indispensable part of the changing healthcare system, delivering excellent outcomes for their patients, with improved financial performance and reduced reliance on any single income stream. Challenging more traditional approaches, the organisation is forward thinking and operates as a social enterprise where c80% of staff are shareholders and have a real say in how the organisation works. This offers the opportunity for the organisation to take charge of its own destiny and make real improvements in services to patients where there is the ethos of high quality care, every time. They reinvest any surplus in benefitting the community whether that be by supporting local projects or investing in additional staff and services to provide care for people and build healthier communities.

As a Social Enterprise they operate a number of commercial activities to subsidise running costs, support core healthcare roles and generate social value, in the communities they serve and the wider health and social care system in Norfolk and Suffolk.

They are currently dependent on a small number of NHS contracts, and therefore are looking to diversity income streams and develop new services in order to become more profitable, sustainable and to better service their communities.
